A Mother's Dream Realized
Motherhood is a beautiful dream for many women, but the path to get there can be complicated. Aisa Rivera-Quimada's story is a testament to the unwavering strength and resilience it takes to become a mom. The Longing to Be a Mom
CEO and owner of Blush Spa And Aesthetics, Aisa, like many women, dreamt of holding her own child one day. However, her journey to motherhood wasn't without its challenges. Married to husband Marq Quimada since 2012, it has been their dream of becoming a family. A dream that took 8 years to materialize but it was worth all the hardships to finally hug their little bundle of joy.
Facing Fertility Struggles
Aisa underwent In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments, a demanding and often emotionally draining process. Unfortunately, these attempts were unsuccessful. There were deeply difficult times for her, so many efforts made to make the pregnancy happen only to fail also took a psychological toll on her as well. Persevering despite the setbacks, she made sure that her hospital visits were always done on time and needles counted.
Prayers have always been her source of unwavering faith in beating infertility. Even if she was suffering from other complications in between like Endometriosis, PCOS, Blocked fallopian tubes, Polyps, Myoma, Reproductive Immune Failure (Category I, II, III), APAS, ANA+, Placenta Previa, Placenta Abruption, Pre-eclampsia, and TIA.
A Peaceful Yet Eventful Pregnancy
Finally she saw the PT test turning positive but chose to keep the matter private, making a decision not to announce the event publiclyto publicly announce the event, was for her to make it a peaceful pregnancy, only close friends and family were aware that she was carrying. On her 8-month, she suffered from pre-eclampsia and placenta previa, but thankfully gave birth to a bouncing baby girl whom they christened Belle.
Experiencing Postpartum
Following 8 days of giving birth, she suffered a mild stroke while breastfeeding. Her husband, who is also a nurse, acted swiftly to save her life and rushed her to the nearest hospital. Her CT scans and MRI tests revealed she had TIA or a mini-stroke. Although no lasting damage was made, it was a wake call for her to remember how fragile life can be. She also realized that even though she was a new mom, she needed to adopt embrace self-care practices fast, because her new family needed her.
The Joy of Motherhood
Aisa's story is filled with miracles from beginning to end. Through alternative paths to conceive, she was finally able to embrace motherhood. There's a special kind of joy that comes with finally holding your child after such a long and challenging journey. Today her story is a beacon of hope for other women facing similar challenges. It's a reminder that all IVF warriors are amazingly strong women and that the bond between a mother and child is what truly matters. Her baby girl Belle just turned a month old this May.
