Join us in celebrating the inspiring journey of Doc Kulot or Dr. Fatimah Al-Zahra Ditti who hails from Zamboanga City and has a growing number of followers at her different social channels. Her story is a testament to empowerment and resilience, and will leave you inspired and uplifted. Let’s honor her as a beacon of strength and a role model for all women everywhere.
On The Topic Of Being Different
When asked about her experience of being bullied, she shared how people nowadays remark about her looks, often saying that she is so pretty, but it wasn't the case before. Growing up she rarely gets compliments, most of the time it's the opposite, because she is not up to beauty standards of the time, like having straight hair or fair skin.
She lived with names like “kulot-maggi” or “Ita-maggi”! Sometimes she would find the bullies writing those mean names on her desk. When asked what “maggi” meant, she explained the bullies thought that her hair was so kinky to the point that it looked like dried noodles.
Group work was also a pain as she was growing up, she faced isolation because of her looks and she would end up with another classmate that was also turned away. Her morale suffered with the rejection but she also fought back with hard work. That grit is what made her the doctor that she is today.
It all stopped somewhere as she was growing up toward self acceptance and to appreciate that her looks are uniquely her own. Of course it hurt when people said it when she was younger but she chose to work on her strengths instead, and turned the perceived weakness into her own powerful statement. Being called “exotic”, a word that used to cause her pain has now become a compliment ever since. There is beauty in being different in Doc Kulot’s world!
On Being Married To Her Bestie And Becoming Famous
Everything about this lady is unique. Touching on the topic of her husband, Maj. Omar Aquilato, she narrated how he would tease her about the compliments she receives on her beauty and celebrity status. A military man by profession, they had met through mutual acquaintances and had a hybrid wedding this year, there was a Pastor and an Imam present to preside over their milestone! He is a Bisaya while she is a Muslim with both having a common ground for great Filipino traditional values and love for their families.

You can see how he readily provides support for his wife at Doc Kulot’s IG content and simply just to enjoy each other’s company. He is not into grand gestures but he is the strong and steady kind of love, who would never text but call on the phone like a caring Dad!
Again, she found that she appreciates the love of her life having a contrasting personality from hers, and that uniqueness made their union more adventurous, she even exclaimed that there is really beauty in being different! She is the fun and outgoing type while he is the total opposite, the strong and silent type. She found that their different personalities contributed to her growth because she gets to learn new things that lead to her personal development.
On The Direction Of Her Medical Practice
About her practice, because her surname is not well-known in the medical community, she decided to make a name for herself through social media channels, to make herself into a doctor who is also human and relatable to her patients. The goal is to get patients to know her as a doctor who has a great zest for life and a big heart for her patients.
She even added stories about her visiting patients saying they saw her posts online and it would break the ice, making the first time visits more warm and less awkward. As of right now, she has been counting the many blessings she had received from God, her wedding this year, the new house and how she no longer commutes because her husband bought their first car together!
She also mentioned that she has been praying to pass the licensure this year to open a clinic before December. her mission to make healthcare more connected to the human side of her patients. She dreams of putting the word “care" back to healthcare! Her goal is to build her own practice with a clinic called DOC KULOT CLINIC one day where patients can get vaccination, medical treatments, lifestyle and wellness advice.
